From : 14 September 2012 12:00 - Until : 14 September 2012 15:00
Location : Lord Charles Hotel, Somerset West
Website : http://www.michelangeloawards.com

On Friday 14 September we will finally know who has won the Best Fairtrade Red and Best Fairtrade White trophies for the 2012 International  Michelangelo Wine Awards competition.

Sponsored by Pick n Pay for the second year running, Fairtrade trophies are a chance for the ethical and sustainable wine industry to show the quality and prestige of Fairtrade certified wines. The winners of last year's competition, Bosman Family Vineyards' Sur Lie Chenin Blanc for the Best Fairtrade White and Stellenrust's Timeless Red Blend for the Best Fairtrade Red, will be participating again this year along with dozens of other local Fairtrade wines.

ABOUT THE MICHELANGELO WINE AWARDS

The Michelangelo International Wine Awards was created in 1997 by Lorraine Immelman, a wine lover and marketing/public relations consultant, when she identified a need in the wine industry for the creation of an international wine competition for South Africa. This competition would be unique in South Africa, in that all judges would be selected wine judges from abroad, with one South African judge on the panel only.

Along with the Double-Gold, Gold and Silver medals, the Michelangelo Wine Awards has recently introduced a variety of trophies dedicated to wine categories that have special characteristics, such as being Fairtrade certified, being limited edition or being on the forefront of innovative winemaking.

On 14 September 2012, keep an eye to our website, and to be the first to know which Fairtrade wines have been awarded this year's trophies!
